Caboolture Operations manual
10. Jul 2009 at 19:43

Have just read the new operations manual and was particularly interested in the "Gyro craft" section. Firstly I am not sure what a "gyro craft" is? The correct term is "Gyroplane"

After 20 years of flying this type of aircraft it seems and I quote, "gyro's are inherently incapable of performing a standard circuit" And circuit speeds are generally in the "40 to 50" knot range.
Never knew that !!

Anyone on whatever committee that dreamed up this dribble care to comment?

Hey Murray

Do you think we should create a board on this forum whereby errors and omissions can be notified to the committee and then they can update the Ops Manual as we go? Maybe that we can can get the document more accurate and accomodating of all types of flying at YCAB

Unfortunately Pete this type of thing occurs when there is nil involvement sought from interested parties. Whether it be gyros, ultralights or whatever.

Allan has sought an explanation from the CAC committee so we will wait for a response.
